Ted Brohman is the founder and CEO of In-Strukt Inc. He has a broad range of expertise in the manufacturing industry, driving business turnarounds and growing businesses organically. He has proven success as an agent in reshaping manufacturing sites and in the empowerment and development of highly effective, culturally-sensitive professionals.
His career has been defined by continuously finding creative ways to strengthen businesses' competitive advantage through productivity, innovation and market expansion. This mindset, combined with his natural ability to consistently uncover ways to improve existing processes, has identified a fundamental need for advancing the mass timber manufacturing processes to align with the design, fabrication and assembly of energy efficient modular housing.
Ted believes it's paramount to establish a secondary extension of the cross laminated timber process, in particular, to build finished homes or modular components out of mass timber in a manufacturing environment. For the foreseeable future, this will be the most insightful, valuable and prudent way of supplying housing to municipalities, developers and residential builders.
Launched in 2015, RFB Development is a heritage developer that sees the potential in underutilized spaces and restores them to serve a new purpose. Every project is rooted in serving the needs of the community, while also prioritizing expert design and adaptive reuse. Unlike other developers, RFB continues to invest in neighbourhoods, before, during and after development to promote built heritage.
Based in Kitchener, Ontario RFB is In-Strukt's key strategic partner, offering municipal development support for our products as well as other mass timber component modular housing products. They also provide In-Strukt with design expertise, construction support for all prefabricated component construction, final delivery, on-site construction and installation.
Retrospect Creative designs custom interiors, art and objects of all scales. Founded with a core design process that is respectful of the quantity and quality of work that is put out into the world, Retrospect approaches each design with the intention of creating a meaningful and functional aesthetic experience.
Being involved from the start, establishing the foundation of In-Strukt's core values, Retrospect ensures that our designs deliver on the key environmental, social and economic benefits we set out as objectives right from the beginning.
We work closely with the designers and engineers at Element5 on our house designs to ensure costs are optimized and production lead times are minimized. This is based on our intimate understanding of the throughput constraints within Element5's fabrication and assembly processes.
